- [1] Table ronde « Notre place dans l’Univers »
À une époque où la recherche de vie sur d’autres planètes que la Terre ouvre des perspectives étonnantes, cette table-ronde invite à explorer comment cette quête bouleverse et nourrit nos réflexions sur notre place dans l’univers. Pour éclairer ce questionnement contemporain, cette rencontre établira un dialogue entre l’anthropologie, l’histoire, la philosophie et l’exobiologie.

La découverte des premières exoplanètes dans les années 1990 constitue une avancée majeure dans la recherche de traces de vie dans l’univers. Ce nouveau regard porté sur le cosmos modifie également la perception de notre planète. Ce changement de perspective est au cœur des recherches en exobiologie, qui étudie conjointement les conditions d’émergence de la vie sur Terre et celles qu’on pourrait rencontrer sur d’autres planètes. Il invite aussi à réfléchir à la façon dont les humains conçoivent leur place dans l’univers et dans le règne du vivant. Dans le cadre d’un dialogue interdisciplinaire avec les sciences de la nature et de l’univers, les sciences sociales et les humanités étudient la diversité des contextes historiques et culturels à partir desquels la question de l’origine de la vie peut être appréhendée.
Conçu et animé par Perig PITROU (anthropologue au CNRS, Maison Française d’Oxford, et au laboratoire d’anthropologie sociale du Collège de France, Université PSL), en collaboration avec Cécile Peltier (Rédactrice en chef adjointe de Sciences Humaines).

- Sylvie ALLOUCHE : philosophe à l’Université catholique de Lyon
- Adrienne KISH : spécialiste en microbiologie des environnements extrêmes au Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle

We would like to announce the Rocky Worlds 4 Conference to be held in Groningen, Netherlands, from 19-23 January 2026: https://groningen2026.rockyworlds.org.
Scope:
Applying the detailed empirical understanding gleaned from the terrestrial planets of our own Solar System is crucial in our interpretation of exoplanetary systems. With the ongoing and upcoming surveys to search for small planets around nearby stars, we can anticipate huge growth in the number and information on detected rocky exoplanets in the coming decades. As the characterisation of these new planetary systems proceeds it will in turn improve understanding of our own Solar System, and in particular of how potentially habitable Earth-like planets form, evolve, and are distributed throughout the galaxy. The Rocky Worlds Meeting Series brings together planetary scientists, astronomers, and earth scientists to foster discussion and build the collaborations that will pave the way for the next frontiers of rocky exoplanet discovery and characterisation.

- [4] 6th Announcement of Opportunity for the CHEOPS Guest Observers Programme
To: SPC, SSAC, Working Groups and Scientific Community
I have the pleasure of inviting you to respond to the 6th Announcement of Opportunity to submit proposals for observations to be performed by CHEOPS (Characterising ExOPlanet Satellite) through the ESA Guest Observers Programme.
This announcement solicits proposals for observations to be performed between 1 October 2025 and 30 September 2026. Scientists from institutes worldwide are invited to participate. All proposals shall be subject to double-anonymous peer-review by the CHEOPS Time Allocation Committee.

- [5] Call for a Medium-size and a Fast mission opportunity in ESA’s Science Programme
To: SPC, SSAC, Working Groups and Scientific Community
Dear Colleague,
I am pleased to inform you that a Call for a Medium-size and a Fast mission opportunity is being released today, soliciting proposals for the competitive selection of space missions to be implemented in the ESA Science Programme. As detailed in the Call, proposals covering any science theme and topic are solicited, with a ceiling to the mission’s cost to ESA of 670M€ for the Medium-size mission, and 205M€ for the Fast mission.
The deadline for submission of the Step-1 proposals is 21 May 2025 at 12:00hrs (noon) CEST, and the deadline for the submission of the Step-2 proposals is 19 March 2026 at 12:00hrs (noon) CET for the Medium-size mission proposals, and 21 April 2026 at 12:00hrs (noon) CEST for the Fast mission proposals.

As detailed in the Call, proposals covering any science theme and topic are solicited, with a ceiling to the mission’s cost to ESA of 50M€.
The deadline for submission of the proposals for mission concepts is 21 May 2025 at 12:00hrs (noon) CEST.
